At 1pm, we met with the manager for United Airlines for both Thailand and Vietnam. He informed us that when doing business in different countries, culture needs to be taken into consideration. For example, United Airlines adapts their food menus (like including rice) in order to better meet taste preferences for flights in Asia. United Airlines continues to be a strong competitor who is continuously adding new flights. On top of that, they are also doing research to better utilize their resources and reduce their environmental impact.
After the business discussion, we went to Chance and Kristina’s Birthday Party. There, we had a large spread of food that included duck, pork, spring rolls, egg rolls, cucumbers, onions, chopped carrots, and other food made by our professor and her family. Later, we sang to Chance and Kristina when they had their cake. It was great to have a get together right before the trip ended. It’s like we’ve all grown into a family. I’m glad I was there to celebrate their special moment and be there for Kristina who wasn’t able to be with her family. She has some new family now. 🙂
Afterwards, the students went to meet the Troy students once last time. We sang songs, talked, and took pictures before parting our separate ways. They were super nice and had fun personalities. Glad to have met them.
