Going to Bambu with the group on Friday was quite enjoyable. It was fun to catch up with everyone and hear from a couple of last year’s participants. Of course, the food was good too. I’ve honestly never had Vietnamese food before. I’ve had Chinese and Thai food, but never Burmese or Vietnamese. It was definitely delicious. I had lemongrass chicken with rice, and I can’t wait to try more types of Vietnamese foods. Everyone’s food looked really good too. I might just have to go back some time before the trip. It was settling to see the menu and know that I would be a little more familiar with the food options while we are in Vietnam. I can’t wait to try the food when we are actually in Vietnam.
Seeing everyone really made me excited for the actual trip. Of course, I’ve been looking forward to the trip for a while now, but hanging out with everyone really made me realize how quickly the trip is approaching. Only a few more weeks to wrap up the semester, find time to pack, and finish researching everything we will be doing. Oh, and tomorrow is orientation, so I’ll get up to date info. Three more weeks, can’t wait!
