I noticed that we have a free day at the end of our trip at Vietnam, so I have some plans for this day.
Central Post Office: The post office was built during 1886- 1891, based on the design of Gustave Eiffel- a well-known French architect together with his assistant Foulhoux. I really want to see the building and maybe use it. I’m an old-feshion person, so I wold like to send some post cards to my friends and family.
Notre Dame Cathedral: While the market stands at a modern and crowded corner of the business district, the ancient cathedral is located in a very peaceful picturesque corner in the downtown of Ho Chi Minh City. It is right across the post office. I think why wouldn’t I go to see this when I’m already there. Ha!
Pham Ngu Lao Street: This area is a little bit westernized with travelers and foreigners. However, there are a lot of local street food. I don’t know if they are typical Vietnamese street food, but I do want to try some because I’m a foodie.
I might change the places that I want to go to accommodate my traveling buddies’ plan. It will be much more fun to go to places with someone, and I want to be safe when I’m in another country. Last time I traveled alone in Philippine, I got drugged and lost my money. I feel so lucky that I wasn’t hurt and I got back to the hotel safe. Even though that brought my bad and scary moments, I’m still not afraid of traveling or adventure. I just need to be more careful.

Oh my gosh! Sorry to hear about your bad experience in the Philippines. One of the places that we may be able to visit with the STU students is the Notre Dame 🙂 So you can cross that one off your list. And definitely stay close to a buddy! Vietnam is safe for the most part, just keep your eyes open.
