We had a very fun night last night on the town with the local students. We went into a bar called hair of the dog on a brightly lit street that they explained was their bar district. The bar was very interesting and it was fun to observe the social interactions of some of the Vietnamese students.
After an unstellar morning, I awoke to plans of breakfast and seeing the war memorial. We set out and cut through a giant park. The park was full of plenty of beautiful plants and scenery. The war museum was about a miles walk away from the hotel.
The museum was enormous and contained lots of war machinery in its courtyard. Ticket prices were very cheap, and the museum was flooded with tourists of all nationalities. It was very interesting to see the vietnameses take on the war and how biased their takes on the war were. The museum almost made me feel bad to be an American. Pictures of tortured, deformed, or dead Vietnamese locals flooded the museum. Altogether, it was a very cool experience that opened my eyes to just how big of an impact the Americans had on Vietnam during the war.
Following the museum, Robbie and I passed out for around 4 hours napping and are currently heading towards the bitexico tower to check out the city at night. Very fun day and night are in store.
Until tomorrow,
Jimmy
