I think I’ve got pretty much everything figured out besides making up my mind what I should be wearing in Sri Lanka for days of long walking while still respecting their customs. I know we’ve talked a lot about this but any specific ideas would be greatly appreciated because this has really been bugging me. I’ve searched for ideas on Pinterest, all the travel blogs I follow and done some solid googling but every one seems to be everywhere. Overall, most people said the country had a very relaxed feel (Colombo specifically) and that they were OK to wear comfortable shorts for walking. I’m really stumped here.
This is one of my favorite bloggers. It can be cheesy at times but overall she has some great travel advice and photography to inspire. This is her post on Northern Sri Lanka http://theblondeabroad.com/2016/06/29/guide-north-central-sri-lanka/ and her outfit that she’s wearing for the Minneriya National Park blip is something similar to an outfit I own yet she’s wearing shorts.
If you guys know what you plan to wear please let me know! Being a girl, of course I’m probably over thinking this lol but I just want to not be worried about this anymore.

I have also done a lot of research on what to wear while hiking in Sri Lanka and have noticed a lot of people are wearing shorts. I am wondering if we could just wear shorts and then get a sarong to carry around in our bag for when we need to cover up our knees if we are going into a temple. Just a thought…but I have been wondering the same things and noticed the same things while researching.

I don’t think you are overthinking it at all. haha I have been worried about the same thing. I think I am going to wear shorts and wrap a sarong around my waist. I think this is the best option in the heat and for comfort while walking around.
