Every time I would search Vietnam when considering applying for this study away program, I always saw this picture and some other similar ones so, despite the fact that we won’t be stopping here, finally I decided to figure out where this beautiful place was! I figured someone else had to be seeing this picture as often as I was and became a little curious as well.
I discovered this to be known as the Halong Bay. It was deemed a World Heritage site in 1994. Unfortunately, it is much farther north relative to where we will be; however, it makes for an excellent reason to return. You can take a tour of Halong Bay to sail through the thousands of islands and soak in all of its beauty. I highly suggest simply looking up pictures because it will take your breath away (also why it is Northeastern Vietnam’s #1 Tourism Spot).
