The College of Health and Human Services continues to develop programs and projects for the advancement of the community and surrounding areas.
Dr. Susan Dollar, professor of social work, and Dr. Todd Daniel, director of the RStats Institute at Missouri State University, have received $247,858 in funding from the Missouri Department of Health and Senior Services for abstinence-based education programming (AEP).
Dr. Susan Dollar, professor of social work, received a renewed grant of $72,872 from the United States Department of Health and Human services via the Missouri Department of Social Services for the Title IV-E Master of Social Work (MSW) program at Missouri State University.
Dr. Susan Dollar, professor of social work, and Todd Daniel, director of the RStats Institute, received a renewed contract $243,791.21 from the Missouri Department of Health and Senior Services for the abstinence-plus education program in southwest Missouri.

Each semester the School of Social Work hosts a series of Continuing Education workshops for working professionals and students. The next workshop in the fall series is entitled “Understanding Autism Spectrum Disorders & Common Family Issues Related To Practice.” Taught by Dr. Darryl Haslam, the workshop will be held at 1 p.m. Oct. 26.
Each workshop costs $45. A discounted rate of $25 is offered to Missouri State alumni and field instructors. A limited number of free spots for Missouri State and Evangel students are available for each session.

Alissa Jecklin, grant project director in Missouri State University’s School of Social Work, received a grant of $131,767.77 from the Missouri Department of Social Work to continue funding the Missouri Mentoring Partnership (MMP).
Renee White, field education coordinator and clinical instructor in the School of Social Work at Missouri State University, will receive recognition for her work with the Joplin Area Long-Term Recovery Committee (LTRC) from President Barack Obama, Governor Jay Nixon and Joplin Mayor Melodee Colbert-Kean this week. White serves as the chair of the LTRC.
