Beginning a new school year has the potential for rewarding and novel situations, yet there may be a few hiccups as well. Finding a way to navigate the challenging portions sometimes means obtaining resources and assistance from multiple sources. For those of you who work with students who experience autism spectrum disorder and other developmental disabilities, Project ACCESS is here for you all year ’round and we are ready to ease some of the stress of being in a new role.
If you are new to the position of Special Education/Special Services Director ~ or you are beginning the school year with a new director ~ contact Project ACCESS to ensure you are aware of our resources, support and training specifically designed to help you help your students with developmental disabilities, particularly autism. We can provide professional development tailored to your needs, send a Missouri Autism Consultant to your district to provide a child-specific consultation and/or coaching, and suggest various resources, tools and strategies to implement to improve the education experience for everyone involved.
Also, Project ACCESS will be at the 2019 Special Education New Directors’ Academy in Jefferson City on July 25-26. Stop by our booth and find out what we have to offer for you and your students! Chat with some of our staff and pick up a free flash drive that includes useful apps.
