Missouri Schools for the Severely Disabled (MSSD) has released a new curriculum that includes “over 1,000 new instructional activities for students with severe disabilities….”
From their announcement:
“The curriculum units are aligned with the strands and domains of the Missouri Learning Standards which are the universal format based on the Essential Elements for the MAP-A achievement standards. The content area of English Language Arts, Mathematics, and Science now are available for you to access.
The curriculum includes activities aligned to the standards to serve as models for creating lessons plans aimed at students with significant disabilities. More activities will be added on a continuous basis. Any teacher can submit an activity for review via email at mssd@dese.mo.gov.
Pacing guides will also be available on the MSSD curriculum website by June 1, 2020. The pacing guides are organized by the units that could be taught in each quarter. Individuals can provide feedback on the curriculum as well as the activities. Questions or comments can be directed to mssd@dese.mo.gov.”
