Autism Journey Day 26-Has anyone ever dealt with the nightmare of lice? Paige got lice in elementary school and it was a pretty bad case by the time we figured it out. She hated having her hair brushed or combed, so you can imagine how thrilled she was with everything we did to her hair. I would let her fall asleep on our leather couch and then spend hours going through her hair. That girl has a TON of hair. We finally got rid of it and were so thankful! Paige ended up tolerating having her hair brushed and even brushing her own hair as a result of this experience. I learned a very important lesson, which was to find the silver lining in experiences that were difficult. I still look for that silver lining in every rough experience that I am going through. Paige doesn’t have any issues with head sensitivity now and lets me straighten her hair each morning.
