FREE De-Escalation IN PERSON WORKSHOP

This workshop is designed to support and inform school staff members who work with students who are likely to display interfering behaviors or become escalated. In this training, attendees will learn of the 7 steps of the crisis cycle including: calm, trigger, agitation, acceleration, peak, de-escalation, and recovery. For each of these steps attendees will be provided information about what they can expect from their student in each of these phases, as well as what they should be doing to support the escalated student. Attendees will have time to reflect on previous incidents of escalation and how new information can be used to support these students going forward. This training is not meant to provide information or training on restraint or seclusion practices.
