Building Strong Foundations: ABA Verbal Behavior Training for Essential Early Skills

Many learners on the autism spectrum face unique challenges as they work to build communication, social, and play skills. These early abilities don’t just support day‑to‑day interactions—they are the foundation for all future learning. For educators, therapists, and caregivers, knowing how to teach these skills intentionally and effectively can make a tremendous difference.

That’s where the ABA Verbal Behavior: Establishing Basic Skills Training comes in.

This two‑day workshop focuses on the essential early skills that often require specialized instruction. Participants will explore how to teach language and imitation skills, support early social‑play abilities, and establish the prerequisite behaviors necessary for successful learning. The training dives into instructional control, teaching initial mands, building imitation repertoires, strengthening listener responding, and fostering foundational social interaction skills.

Beyond the core content, the workshop emphasizes behavioral protocols and data‑based decision‑making systems. Attendees will engage with guided notes, pre‑ and post‑tests, hands‑on practice opportunities, and individualized competency checks to ensure each participant gains both understanding and confidence. Those who have completed the Verbal Behavior 3‑Day Bootcamp will find this training to be a natural, deeper extension of what they’ve already learned.

The trainer brings extensive experience in education, behavior analysis, curriculum development, and instructional technology. With a background spanning K–12 settings and a passion for helping educators approach challenging behavior in effective and compassionate ways, participants can expect practical strategies grounded in real‑world application.

Whether you’re a teacher, paraprofessional, behavior technician, or caregiver looking to enhance your toolkit, this training offers a strong foundation for supporting learners who benefit from structured, evidence‑based skill development.
