Please make plans to attend academic advisor forums in the Spring 2025 semester. All sessions count toward the three hours needed for annual renewal of Master Advisor designation. All faculty and staff are welcome, so please encourage colleagues to participate. Registration is strongly encouraged.

Illinois Launches Transfer Admissions Guarantee

“Students who graduated from an Illinois high school, no matter where they’re currently enrolled, will soon be guaranteed transfer admission to any University of Illinois system institution – including the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, which has a regular acceptance rate below 50 percent.” Liam Knox outlines Illinois’s new transfer admissions guarantee in this Inside Higher Ed article.

Attend the 2025 COTA Conference!

The 2025 COTA Conference will be held on Friday, March 7, 2025, at Camden on the Lake in Lake Ozark, MO. This year’s theme is “Student Centered Transfer Revolution: Rethinking Policies, Practices, and Partnerships”, and will address challenges with respect to student transfer, credit vs non-credit alignment, collaboration, and institutional policy. Registration for the 2025 COTA Conference is now open.

The Transfer Advising Committee has representation from each academic college and works collaboratively to develop best practices for transfer advising, facilitate communication regarding transfer student issues, and offer professional development for transfer advisors.
