Collegiate Farm Bureau at Missouri State University is excited to revive the annual Agriculture Forum at the Darr Agricultural Center on March 25, 2022. The doors are set to open at 5:30 p.m. for a reception with the forum to begin promptly at 6:30. The Ag Forum allows students and members of the community to hear where agricultural policy is headed from leading lobbyists and politicians.
The panelists this year are: Senator Roy Blunt representing the U.S. Congress, Mr. Mike Kehoe representing Missouri’s Executive Branch, and Garrett Hawkins the current Missouri Farm Bureau President. The speakers have a vast wealth of experience between them with decades serving Missouri and American agriculturists. This event gives the audience a chance to see what is in store for our state and nation. Attendees are invited to ask questions of the panel during the open forum.
Nichole Busdieker-Jesse, Missouri State University Collegiate Farm Bureau advisor, has attended the event in the past and sees events like Ag Forum as crucial for the industry.
“Agriculture is an industry we can be both passionate about and proud of, but it is also one we need to take an extra step to keep aware of what is going on. Our Agricultural Forum is an opportunity to do just that. We get to hear from those serving agriculture at a state and federal level, while having the opportunity add a voice to critical agricultural policy discussions that will impact us today, tomorrow and for generations to come.”
The Ag Forum is an excellent opportunity for anyone who wants to hear about how food and natural resources policies are handled as they impact our state and local communities. With so many crucial current and upcoming topics facing agriculture it is important for us to be a part of the discussions that will lead to solutions. Please join us on March 25th.
