The Collegiate Farm Bureau chapter of the Darr College of Agriculture is eager to welcome the community to the annual MSU Ag Forum, Wednesday, April 5, 2023. All are welcomed to attend and are encouraged to arrive at the Darr Agricultural Center for hors d’oeuvres, networking and an opportunity to hear from policy experts.
The college is excited to host the following experts to discuss this impactful policy. The panelists include U.S. Senator, Josh Hawley; U.S. Representative, Eric Burlison; Missouri Farm Bureau President, Garrett Hawkins. These respective representatives bring more than 21 years of policy experience to the discussion and will discuss topics for approximately one hour. Attendees are encouraged to ask questions during the open forum, allowing for conversations to be geared towards agricultural policy interests and current events that impact those policies.
The Agricultural Forum has been an annual opportunity for 23 years. This event brings together agricultural policy experts, students and the surrounding community to hear from elected officials on topics that impact today’s agricultural climate, leading to the lasting impact on tomorrow’s reality. All are encouraged to attend, even those with little background in agricultural policy.
Nichole Busdieker-Jesse, an agribusiness instructor and Collegiate Farm Bureau faculty advisor is eager to provide an opportunity for students and the public to learn first-hand what is discussed weekly in her agriculture policy class, while also providing the setting for anyone interested to see how policy is important for all.
“Agriculture policy is important because it goes beyond what is happening today,” Busdieker-Jesse said. “Policy takes what happened yesterday, to inform us for today, and educate the world for the agriculture of tomorrow.”
For those interested in joining the conversation on April 5, the doors to the Bond Ballroom at the Darr Agricultural Center open at 5:30 p.m. The Darr Agricultural Center is located off Kansas Expressway in Springfield, Mo.
