APPLICATION

Complete the General and Departmental Scholarship Application by March 1.

All Department of Art + Design Scholarships require the submission of an Art Portfolio.

Portfolios can be submitted online within the General and Departmental Scholarship Application.

Portfolios should include…

  • Studio Art + Design Majors: 15 pieces of artwork from any medium/media
  • Art History Majors: Original research paper on some aspect of art architecture or art criticism

SELECTION CRITERIA

The Recipient of the award will be an undergraduate junior or senior (including graduating seniors) that has maintained a 3.5 GPA within the Art + Design Department and a 3.0 cumulative GPA.  The student must be a Painting and/or Drawing major and have completed at least 15 credit hours in those courses.  The recipient must submit three letters of recommendation using the online application from Painting, Drawing, and/or Art History faculty at Missouri State University.

Painting and Drawing faculty serving on the Art + Design Scholarship Selection will select one student out of those applying through the online application to receive the Hugh C. and Faith A. Yorty Award for Excellence in the Field of Painting and Drawing. That selection will then be approved by the entire Art + Design Scholarship Committee.

RENEWAL CRITERIA

This scholarship cannot be renewed.
