First Friday is coming back this week, November 3! In this month’s walk, you may want to bring a jacket….
One of the featured exhibitions on Friday will be from Jacek Fraczak. The exhibition will hold collections of Fraczak’s love of the ozarks area, titled I love where I live. There will be a selection of prints specifically depicting the views of the Ozarks region in southern Missouri and northern Arkansas, which will debut at Corbett Law Firm, 2015 E. Phelps St. The artist’s reception will be during the Art Walk, from 6:00-8:00p.
Another exhibit will feature Todd Gray’s POP GEOMETRY, held at the Brick City Gallery, with an opening reception held from 6:00-10:00p. Gray says about his work, “I’m using abbreviated and sampled classic images of pop from the past and trying to combine them into new, relevant and recognizable contemporary pop art … Cartoons, Superheroes, hashtags, social media, emojis and so many other things that our modern-day culture embrace are all elements of today’s contemporary pop art.” The exhibition will be on display until November 14.
Coming to the Student Exhibition Center, Art Education Program and the gallery will be hosting a statewide Juried Art Exhibition for secondary school teachers and their students for First Friday. This exhibition will showcase selected works from teachers and students who represent the talent from all areas of the state.
