Dr. Leslie Seawright: English 321 General Education Student Learning Outcomes Assessment
Dr. Seawright is an Assistant Professor in the English Department in the College of Arts and Letters. Her grant proposal, “English 321 General Education Student Learning Outcomes Assessment,” supports a faculty discussion to assess a particular course within the program. By assessing student work, and developing a rubric to assess student artifacts, this project will allow the English Department to show evidence of student learning and how to improve that learning in the future.
Dr. Seawright states, “The Assessment Grants offer a fantastic incentive to faculty involved in the assessment process. It is not often easy to gather faculty for assessment activities, so the grants go a long way in encouraging faculty to participate.”
The Office of Assessment appreciates the work of the English Department to assess student work, bring faculty together, and work collaboratively to improve student learning.
