The Lady Bears, one of 64 teams in the nation invited to the tournament, earned a No. 13 seed.

They fell in the first round to fourth-seeded and 18th-ranked Texas A&M in a game held in College Station, Texas. This ended a seven-game winning streak.

Before heading to the tournament, the Lady Bears captured their 10th Missouri Valley Conference Tournament championship.

The Lady Bears boast a rich NCAA Tournament history, with Final Four appearances in 1992 and 2001 and a Sweet Sixteen trip in 1993.
