Cedomir Kostovic, beloved professor of the graphic design and illustration program here at MSU, is close to retirement. To celebrate, his former students have organized Cedo25+, a retrospective of Cedo’s work, along with new work by his alumni.
Cedo is a world renowned designer, widely recognized for his social and political commentary through poster design. He, along with Lucas Roy, Adam Bowlin, and Aimee Pong, will open this exhibit later tonight, October 18th, and the exhibition will last throughout the month. There will be a closing reception on Friday, October 27th. The exhibition will open tonight at the Student Exhibition Center, located Northwest of MSU’s main campus.
The exhibition will present selected works from Cedomir Kostovic in conversation with alumni work inspired by his posters and mentorship. It will highlight the conversation between professor and scholar, across time and space. Viewers will witness the evolution of design during the 25+ years of Kostovic’s teaching career and his influence on students, across print and digital mediums. There will also be a poster sale, with all proceeds to support the exhibition and catalogue.
