One of Missouri State University’s fastest growing colleges will soon be under new leadership.
Dr. Letitia White-Minnis will begin as interim dean of the McQueary College of Health and Human Services on Jan. 1. She replaces Dr. Helen Reid, who plans to retire Feb. 1 after serving as dean for 10 years.
White-Minnis is currently the associate dean of academic programs for the McQueary College of Health and Human Services and department head of communication sciences and disorders.
“I am honored and humbled by the opportunity to serve as interim dean in the McQueary College of Health and Human Services,” said White-Minnis. “I am grateful for the mentorship that I’ve received from Dr. Reid, and I look forward to what is ahead.”
Record of service, teaching
White-Minnis has a doctorate from East Carolina University. She has been on faculty in communication sciences and disorders at Missouri State since 2005. She earned the rank of professor in 2016.
White-Minnis served as interim department head of communication sciences and disorders for one year before she became the permanent department head in 2013. She was appointed associate dean of academic programs for the college in August 2017.
“Letitia has a strong record of leadership, teaching and service,” said Provost Frank Einhellig. “She’ll help the college continue to grow in key health care areas.”
The university will conduct a national search for a permanent dean.
