Can you drink alcohol while training for a big race?

There are no clear cut rules about whether or not you can drink alcohol while working out to prepare for a big race or an endurance event. But alcohol may affect not only your hydration, but also blood circulation to your muscles, and even your sleep quality.

Natalie Allen, a registered dietitian and clinical instructor of biomedical sciences at Missouri State University, shares with Spartan some important things to be aware of when combining alcohol and working out.
