Many heroes have emerged in the past year. When faced with the biggest health care crisis in our lifetime, Missouri State alumni stepped up.
The Missouri State University Alumni Association will recognize all front-line health care Bears as the recipients of the 2021 Bears of Excellence Award on June 19 at the annual Bears of Distinction Alumni Dinner and Awards Ceremony.
Justin Ellis, ’02, chair of the MSU Alumni Association and awards selection committee said, “Throughout this pandemic, these heroes have sacrificed their personal lives, put themselves at risk and put their communities first to ensure they are doing everything possible to care for those in need.”
“Our award selection committee unanimously concluded that these alumni, collectively, are truly deserving of the Bears of Excellence Award. Their service, selflessness and tireless efforts are commendable and worthy of the highest recognition.”
Missouri State University is committed to developing and preparing world-class health care workers. These Bears have answered the call across our nation in our greatest time of need,” Ellis said.
A token of our thanks
The Missouri State University Alumni Association wants to recognize and celebrate as many front-line health care Bears as possible with a token of our thanks.
If you are a front-line health care Bear, or know one, send us a photo of yourself along with your contact information. You will receive a 2021 Bear of Excellence memento in honor of your service and your photo will be included in a presentation along with fellow health care Bears on the night of the event.
These Bears will join the MSU Alumni Association’s 2020 class of Awardees who were selected but not recognized last year due to the pandemic shutdown.
