In summer 2021, Missouri State University welcomed Grey Garris, assistant director of multicultural programs and LGBTQ+ student services.
Garris’ approach to LGBTQ+ student services is to recognize the unique ways different communities need support.
“I hope to form support groups with different designations of individuals within the queer community across campus to make sure each individual is receiving the support they need, rather than a group approach,” Garris said.
Along with new and continued efforts on campus, multicultural programs will host live and virtual events throughout October to celebrate LGBTQ+ Heritage Month.
