Graduate student enrollment at Missouri State University set a new record for the third year in a row.
On the university’s official census day (Sept. 27), 4,224 graduate students were enrolled – a 1% increase from last year’s record.
International student enrollment was up 16% with a total of 1,863 students.
“Graduate and international enrollment have been priorities for the university over the past year, and it shows,” said President Clif Smart. “Now, we’re focusing on ways to increase freshman and transfer student enrollment.”
A total of 23,307 students are enrolled on the Springfield campus this year. System enrollment is 24,978, with 1,744 students enrolled on the West Plains campus.
Students come from all 114 counties in Missouri; 49 states plus the District of Columbia and territories of Guam, Puerto Rico and the Virgin Islands; and 94 other countries.

High school seniors are encouraged to apply for admission early in their senior year and to be aware of scholarship application deadlines. Prospective students are encouraged to visit the campus.
The university will host Showcase, a special open house for prospective students, on Nov. 12.
