Zoë’s Bucket List – Check-out the Wellness options at Foster Recreation Center!

December 3, 2015 by Priscilla Childress

When students think of the Rec Center, many think specifically of working out in some sort of way. Unknown to some students, Foster Recreation also offers up many other services to students. There is a whole webpage dedicated to the wellness side of Foster Rec that I encourage students and families to check out. IMG_9833

There are options ranging from personal training, CPR/First aid training, SHARP classes and massage therapy as well as many more! With personal training, students can get a fitness program tailored to them and get one-on-one time with a personal trainer.

The CPR/First aid training and SHARP classes are ways for students to be more knowledgeable and smart when it comes to certain situations. SHARP stands for Sexual Harassment and Rape Prevention and is a class for males and females designed to teach self-defense.

Massage therapy is a unique opportunity for you to get away from stress right on campus. It is available to students and non-members of the Foster Recreation Center as well! All you have to do is schedule a massage time and select the type of massage.

Some of these programs are free to students, but the ones that are not free, are at a reduced and affordable price. Families, if you’re looking for a way to show your students you are thinking about them during this stressful finals time, a relaxing massage might do the trick!

The Foster Recreation Center has so many programs and activities to offer for students and families to take advantage of so stop on by or take a look online.

Happy Finals!
