Springfield Symphony: Revolutionary Beauty
Juanita K. Hammons Hall for the Performing Arts, Saturday, April 21st, 7:30 pm
There are some musical compositions that are so exquisitely sublime that they transfix and transform the listener with their arresting beauty. We join forces with the combined choirs of Drury, Evangel, and Missouri State Universities to perform some of these most beautiful pieces for choir and orchestra, including Brahms’ haunting Nanie, Verdi’s beloved Va Pensiero, and the utterly gorgeous “Humming Chorus” from Madama Butterfly. And a night of beauty wouldn’t be complete without Tchaikovsky’s lush and dramatic Sleeping Beauty Suite This is a night of music that will leave you breathless with its beauty.
