Family Connection

Seth Says…Enjoy Homecoming!

October 15, 2018 by Priscilla Childress

One of my favorite weeks of the year is this week at Missouri State! Homecoming is a time where students, past and present, come together and celebrate the greatness of Missouri State. Organizations around campus compete against each other throughout the week in different events, with there being an eventual over-all winner announced at the end of the week!

Some of my favorite memories have been made during Homecoming. I’ve been fortunate enough to be a part of an organization that has won 6 years in a row. All our hard work the past two years I have been a member has shown, and plus we have fun along the way. I’ve met so many new people because of Homecoming and made fantastic connections.

This year I am participating in the “Yell Like Hell” event, which is a show where organizations make up a routine to perform in front of everyone in attendance for the event. If you go on YouTube and search “Yell Like Hell Missouri State” you can get a taste of the event. I never saw myself doing this as a freshman but I’m finally stepping out of my comfort zone and trying something new! I’m excited to perform for everyone and show them the hard work we have been putting in. Homecoming officially started on Sunday with our kickoff event! Students in different organizations participated painted murals downtown and at the Plaster Student Union!

Make sure to follow Missouri State Homecoming on Facebook (@MOStateHomecoming), Twitter (@MOStateHC2018), and Instagram to keep up with all of the events throughout the week! Ask your student if they are participating in any of the events and ask them to send you pictures of them taking part in Homecoming! These memories will last them a lifetime!

Hope you all can make it down for the Homecoming Parade Saturday morning at 9am!

Thanks for reading!

Seth
