The end of first semester is coming upon us at Missouri State, and wow, has it flown by. It feels like just yesterday classes started and now, they are about to end. The end of the semester brings a few things along with it…. tests, projects, and a feeling of the world falling on our shoulders. No need to stress over these things though. With proper time management, your student will excel during the upcoming weeks.
Time management is a skill every college student needs. It is important to practice time management with things outside of the classroom as well. With the help of a calendar and a sense of how much time to set aside for each activity, planning out the next couple of weeks will be a breeze.
Over Thanksgiving break, be sure to ask your student how classes and organizations they are involved in are going. Try to get a gauge of what events they will have coming up, that way you can give them advice for the rest of the semester. A daily reminder text may be a little too much, but a “just checking in on how your week is going” text will help remind us of events or assignments we have coming up and remind us to tell you about them.
Send your students home from Thanksgiving break with brain food and warmer clothes. And of course… a finals week care package would be great!
Best wishes,
Seth
