My name is Logan Elliott, and I am a second-year graduate student pursuing a Master’s Degree in Student Affairs in Higher Education. I am writing this blog to talk about a new series being put on at Missouri State University through the Office of Orientation & Transition Programs. This series is completely virtual so you can get involved from right where you are!
Bears’ Tales is a webinar-style Zoom series about life at Missouri State, where current students (SOAR Leaders) will share their experiences with and answer questions about Missouri State resources and opportunities.
A few things to note about the series is that there will be eight topic-specific sessions this semester starting the week of April 8th and running through the week of May 27th. Sessions are held on Thursdays from 3:00-4:00 pm and are being recorded and uploaded online for those who are unable to attend a session.
Please see below for a schedule of this awesome series:
● April 8th: Commuter Student Experience
● April 15th: Fraternity & Sorority Life
● April 22nd: Getting Involved on Campus
● April 29th: Multicultural Resources
● May 6th: Residential Student Experience
● May 13th: Utilizing Academic Resources & Building Relationships with Faculty
● May 20th: Student Employment
● May 27th: First Generation College Student Experience
This is a great way for students as well as family members to get engaged with current students, learn about helpful support systems and resources, and hear about real-life experiences that students are having at Missouri State.
