Residence Life, Housing and Dining – November 2021 Update

November 8, 2021 by Priscilla Childress

Some Residence Halls Close for Winter Break

Blair-Shannon, Freddy, Wells, and Woods House will close on December 18 at 8 am and will reopen January 15 at 8 am for Winter Break. All mail during this time is stopped, and students will need to send packages elsewhere during this time.

Students who need housing can contact the Residence Life, Housing and Dining Services Office 417-836-5536 if they need assistance finding break housing. We offer very limited spaces on campus for students at a minimal cost and we also work with a nearby hotel for a discounted rate. Have your student contact us so we can talk about options if they need housing during that time.

Break housing information and the request form can be found online. All other residence halls and apartments (Hammons, Hutchens, Scholars, Monroe, and Sunvilla) will remain open.

Housing Applications for 2022-2023

Current on campus students can fill out the housing application. Go to My.MissouriState.edu then Campus Life then Housing to fill out the housing application to live on campus. The $100 Housing deposit also carries over from year to year for students who remain on campus.

Future Fall 2022 students should fill out the housing application now as there is no penalty for cancelling for before May 1, 2022. Make sure to complete the meningitis requirement, pay the housing deposit, and sign the Terms and Conditions to have a completed housing application.

Assignments are made based on application completion date order at the end of each month starting in May.

We are excited to announce the opening of the New Residence Hall for the 2022-2023 year! First-time and returning students are eligible for the New Residence Hall. Additional information and photos are available online.

Resident Assistant

The Resident Assistant (RA) application for the 2022-2023 academic year opens November 29. In addition to gaining valuable experience and skills, RAs receive a free residence hall room, meal plan, and a stipend of $1,900 for the academic year (total value over $10,000).

For more information on the RA position, please visit the Residence Life website.
