A Chat with Chase – The Start of a New Semester

January 23, 2023 by Priscilla Childress

Isn’t it so exciting to be back for another semester? Even though we are all sad it’s over, I hope that you all had a wonderful winter break and are ready for another great semester.

If you are nervous for your classes or think you might struggle with a class, this semester, be sure to stop by the Bear Claw and the Writing Center so you can stay on track throughout the semester. The student workers at the Bear Claw and Writing Center are trained to help students with specific classes so if you are needing extra help in a class this is a great resource to utilize. You can schedule an appointment online and learn more about what they have to offer by checking them out on the Missouri State website.

If you are wishing that you would have gotten more involved last semester no need to worry because there are so many opportunities to get involved this semester as well. The Student Involvement Fair is Wednesday, February 1st from 10:00 am to 12:00 pm on the second floor of the PSU. All sorts of organizations will be tabling so it will be a great opportunity to see all of the different organizations we have on campus and talk to the representatives from each organization about getting involved.

Are you looking for an opportunity to grow as a leader, have you thought about applying to be an URSA Major? The URSA experience is a three-day two-night experience that immerses incoming students into life at Missouri State. At URSA the URSA minors learn about Missouri State traditions, learn about our public affairs mission, and learn how to get involved on campus.

As an URSA Major you would be facilitating small groups of URSA minors and representing Missouri State to 200 new students. If you are interested in becoming an URSA major be sure to apply by February 10th at 11:59 pm!!

I hope that you all have a wonderful first week of classes and an amazing semester!!
