There are many opportunities for students in BMS programs. For example, Dietetics students traveled to Central America again this year and the Pre-Med Society visited Peru. There are two other opportunities coming up that students should be aware of.
Tomorrow, as part of the Public Affairs Conference, Robert F. Kennedy Jr. will be on campus to speak at 10am. Tickets are free. This is a chance to hear one of Time Magazine’s “Heroes of the Planet” and Rolling Stone’s “100 Agents of Change”. Whether you agree with his politics or not. This is an opportunity to hear someone that people in power listen to.
Also tomorrow and continuing Saturday, the Missouri Academy of Science Annual meeting is taking place in the PSU. Several students from BMS research labs will present their work. The schedule is posted at http://www.moacadsci.org/masmeeting/.
Too often students and faculty get caught up in the routine of our lives. Let’s take advantage of these great opportunities to learn about things beyond our typical experiences.
