Last week, July 10th-15th, Whitney Schroer (CMB Undergraduate) and Renee Ehrenstrom (CMB Graduate Student) presented their work at the 2010 International Conference on Alzheimer’s Disease in Honolulu, Hawaii. The project entitled, “Early Gait Alterations in the Tg2576 Mouse Model of Alzheimer’s Disease: A Preliminary Aanalysis” was largely completed by Whitney because of her interest in Alzheimer’s Disease and her dedication to generating data to test the hypothesis that AD disrupts locomotion. Whitney completed the data collection while also finishing her penultimate semester in the Cell and Molecular Biology program. She intends to enroll in the CMB graduate program this December. Her findings and conclusions can be found on her poster hanging in the 3rd floor hallway of the Professional Building outside the Anatomy labs.
