Max Miller, a sophomore at Missouri State University, shares his journey from a biology major to a double major in psychology and sociology, driven by his passion for community and counseling. As part of his service-learning project started in fall 2024, he is conducting independent research comparing mental health resources in Springfield and Chicago, with a focus on marginalized communities. His work aims to enhance local mental health services, particularly for low-income and LGBTQ individuals.
