This year, the American Chemical Society’s (ACS) annual meeting was held in New Orleans, Louisiana.

Several students and one faculty spent March 18-22 learning about and presenting research in the field of chemistry.

Participants from Dr. Fichter’s lab

Students who presented from Dr. Katye Fichter’s lab include:

  • Molly Duszynski
  • Gregory Illy
  • Emily Nowak
  • Brennon Foster

Fichter also presented her work.

Fichter believes this conference is valuable because it provides networking opportunities, new ideas and feedback on research.

“The ACS meeting lets students like me interact and share research with other chemists from academia, industry, government and many other sectors,” Blankenship said. “It exposes us to new ideas in a relatively relaxed environment.”
