This year, the American Chemical Society’s (ACS) annual meeting was held in New Orleans, Louisiana.
Several students and one faculty spent March 18-22 learning about and presenting research in the field of chemistry.

Fichter also presented her work.
Fichter believes this conference is valuable because it provides networking opportunities, new ideas and feedback on research.

Quinton Wyatt from Dr. Reza Herati’s lab presented, and Leanna Patton from Dr. Eric Bosh’s lab attended.
“The ACS meeting lets students like me interact and share research with other chemists from academia, industry, government and many other sectors,” Blankenship said. “It exposes us to new ideas in a relatively relaxed environment.”
