The annual Inorganic Chemistry Day was held April 21 at the University of Missouri Science and Technology.
Several Missouri State University faculty and students attended and presented on a variety of topics.
About the presentations
Dr. Nikolay Gerasimchuk, Lauri Kivijarvi and Kevin Pinks presented at the conference. MSU affiliates are bolded as authors.

- New class of the NIR emitters beyond 1000 nm for theranostic applications: self-assembled, cytotoxic luminescent 1D Pt-cyanoximates by Gerasimchuk and M. Berezin
- Preparation and Characterization of Novel Non-Linear-Optics Solids in As-O-Mo, As(P)-O-Mo(W) and As(P)-O-Nb(W) systems by Gerasimchuk, Frank Romindger, Soma Ghosh, Yu Ping, Miles Pearson, Kivijarvi and Meriem Goudjil.
- New Organoantimony(V) Cyanoximates For Antimicrobial Studies by Pinks and Gerasimchuk

Kivijarvi presented about the Fulbright program, which he is a part of.

About the event
Inorganic Chemistry Day is an informal one-day event that chemists from Missouri and neighboring states attend to learn more about the field they love.
What makes it unique are the contributions from faculty, graduate students and undergraduate students.
“The Missouri Inorganic Chemistry Day is a wonderful venue to freely exchange new ideas, results and socialize with chemists who share the love of the field of chemistry,” Gerasimchuk, professor of chemistry, said.
MSU hosted the event in 2006, 2011 and 2016. CNAS will host the event once again in 2021.
