MSU students who attended Missouri Inorganic Day

Stay close, learn a lot

It’s great when conferences are close to home.

July 23, 2019 by Tori York

We travel to different states, climates and countries to share and learn about our field.

Missouri Inorganic Day is a one-day conference that hosts faculty, students and postdocs from Missouri and neighboring states like Kansas, Arkansas and Oklahoma.

It is held in Missouri each year at different universities. This year it was at Washington University in St. Louis, Missouri.

Several students attended the conference on April 27:

  • Seth Adu
  • Brett Lottis
  • Patricia McDaniel
  • Kevin Pinks
  • Cody Turner

Pinks and Turner presented posters.

Dr. Nikolay Gerasimchuk, professor of chemistry, gave a talk entitled, “Structural Chemistry of Azulenes.”

“It is a very nice friendly gathering of students, postdocs and research active faculty members,” Gerasimchuk said. “The event is a good practice ground for presentations for students and a good forum for professors to present recent news from their research laboratories.”

About the conference

Though it started at University of Missouri many years ago, it now rotates from university to university.

Missouri State University has hosted the conference in 2006, 2011 and 2016. MSU will host again in 2021.
