Dr. Dennis Hickey, Distinguished Professor and Director of the Master’s in Global Studies, delivered a guest lecture to an overflow crowd at the State University of New York at Cortland on November 5.

 

He discussed why Taiwan occupies the best piece of real estate in the South China Sea and why both Washington and Beijing are pushing, in opposite directions, Taipei to change its policies.

 

He also covered late breaking developments including the summit meeting between President Ma of the Republic of China on Taiwan and President Xi of the People’s Republic of China.

 

Recently Dr. Hickey has been interviewed by The People’s Daily, China News Service and China Review News Agency of Hong Kong about this historic meeting.
