MSU really stood out at this year’s Midwest American Academy of Religion meeting! Vadim Putzu organized the Judaism section and a special session on religion and alcohol. Dr. Putzu also did a great job helping our students prepare for and get to the conference. Amy Artman presented a paper on one of the history of Christianity panels. Matthew Kuiper organized and chaired three Islam panels, and presented a paper. Religious Studies graduate students Jonathan Bowman and Ty Melgren also presented papers at the conference, and both did great jobs. Finally, an undergraduate Religious Studies student, John Willis, presented a paper, and he won a prize for the second best undergraduate paper at the conference.
