Your BearPass password is the key to keeping your private information safe and secure. There are a few things that you can do to keep your password safe.
- Don’t use the same password more than once. Using your BearPass password on a non-university site puts you at risk. The more places you use your password, the more chances an attacker has to steal it.
- Don’t share your password with anyone. The most common way for a password to be compromised is that it’s shared by its owner. You are responsible for what happens using your account, so sharing your password opens you up to all kinds of problems. In fact, sharing your password is against University Policy.
- Beware of phishing. Sometimes attackers will send you email that appears to be from Missouri State, but isn’t. Never email your password, and never log into a website that you arrived at by clicking a link in an email. University staff will never ask you for your password.
