Sydney’s career path began with Meek’s Design Center, upon graduation. She worked there for several months before transitioning to Wilgus IQ, “Since I’ve graduated, I’ve had a few different jobs. Some of which I haven’t been very excited about. Although they have all led me to the job I currently have, I am thankful for that.” Currently, Sydney is working for TLC properties as their in-house interior designer, “I really enjoy the job I have at TLC; I have experienced a lot of growth, and I’ve exponentially expanded my knowledge in the last few months.” Sydney’s greatest professional accomplishment, “To persevere and to keep searching until I found the right professional environment. It can be stressful when you feel stuck, but don’t give up.”

How MSU Equipped Sydney For Her Career:

Sydney attributes the foundational knowledge she gained at Missouri State as a leading opportunity. She states, “I learned a lot from Missouri State. I’m thankful for the opportunities my education has led me to and will lead me to. Having a base knowledge is very important.” Sydney also believes that it doesn’t stop with MSU instead it is a stepping stone for the continuing education in the field of your choosing.

Advice for Current Students and Recent Graduates:

“Try your best and learn as much as you can. Even if you are doing something, you may not be super excited for just give it all you got because it may lead to better opportunities in the future.”
