This fall, three students will be agriculture majors at Missouri State who will have unique leadership opportunities throughout the state as they fulfill their state officer duties in the FFA organization. The State FFA organization has over 24,000 members. They will be active this year in countless meetings, banquets, and public relations events that include a state convention that attracts over 7,000 participants and guests. “These three students have tremendous opportunities to make unique contributions as they serve in these offices and start their promising careers at Missouri State,” states Dr. Anson Elliott, Agriculture Department Head.
On April 17, Samantha Warner, a high school senior from Archie, Missouri, was elected as the 2009-2010 president of Missouri Future Farmers of America (FFA). Samantha also plans to enroll in classes at Missouri State in the fall and study agriculture education. Samantha will have a busy year. As president of the Missouri FFA, she will make presentations to legislators and agriculture leaders. She will also represent and interact with thousands of Missouri students interested in the Agriculture industry. As president, she will be able to display to FFA members and other people the many opportunities the Missouri State Department of Agriculture offers. Dr. Anson Elliott, department head of Agriculture communicates the special relationship Missouri State has with FFA, and the pride in having a state officer join our freshman class. “It certainly is a delight to have Samantha joining us. She is an outstanding leader already, and we look forward to playing a role in her future successes.”
