Three Missouri State University alumni, Donald McKnight, Hunter Howell and Ethan Hollender, and current professor Dr. Day Ligon, have found new way to identify the sex of turtles.
Though unconventional, the researchers boast from 55.6 percent success rate to 100 percent based on turtle species.
Turtles are known to be quite private. Hidden away, the only way to find the sex of the turtle is using invasive methods, like taking blood. Their method is not invasive nor will cause harm to the turtles.
