Hospitality leadership students meet top Drury Hotels executives

Three students spent several days learning about Drury Hotels.

January 8, 2019 by Tori York

We know that our hospitality leadership program and our students in it are amazing. However, it’s nice to see that others know it, too.

Three of our students were selected to attend Drury Hotels College Days.

They spent Nov. 8-11 in St. Louis to watch the industry in action, meet with executives and learn about Drury Hotels.

The three students were:

  • Taylor Caldwell
  • Jared Dehart
  • Alexis Hartness

Each student got to meet Drury Hotels CEO Chuck Drury and have lunch with many of their top executives.

Students visited with recruiters, had a property tour and heard from many executives. During presentations, they always had the opportunity to ask questions.

Executives included general and regional managers, senior vice presidents and directors.

Caldwell was impressed with this experience. She thought it was a good representation of the hospitality industry extending hospitality.

“This event gives the students a chance to get to know the company on a personal basis,” Caldwell said. “I was really impressed with the gesture itself. I’ve never known another hospitality company that was willing to invest in the future generations as Drury has.”

About the trip

To be considered, each student had to submit their resume, submit their LinkedIn profile and write an essay about why they love the hospitality field and why they’re interested in Drury Hotels.

After they were chosen, they had an all-expenses paid trip to St. Louis, Missouri.
