The College of Natural and Applied Sciences (CNAS)  will host the 2021 CNAS-STEM Career Expo event 3-6 p.m. Nov. 3.

CNAS will lead the event in partnership with the  Career Center and the  STEM Living Learning Community.

Dustin Braddish, career resources specialist, shares what students can expect from the expo.

Networking with employers made easy

The expo event will provide a unique opportunity for students to engage with employers. Attendees can learn about available jobs and internships across industries.

“All CNAS-STEM students will find employers with opportunities that match their academic experiences,” Braddish said. “Our goal is to make networking with employers easy.”

The event will begin with employer introductions. These will include accounts of who each employer is, their job and internship offers and ideal student candidates.

Following employer introductions, the event will allow for roundtable discussions between students and employers. Conversation starters will be provided.

The expo event will end with a traditional career fair experience, where students can visit employers’ booths and network. Fun swag will be included.

How to prepare for the event

Students are not required to register for the expo event.

Yet they are encouraged to attend the CNAS Resume Madness event as a pre-resume review opportunity.

The event will take place 10 a.m. – 2 p.m. in Temple Hall Oct. 28.

“Students who can’t make the resume event can still have their resumes reviewed by uploading them to Handshake,” Braddish said. “Students can also take advantage of the Career Center’s drop-in hours to receive resume feedback.”

Resume reviews over the Handshake platform will occur virtually.

The Career Center’s drop-in hours allow for meetings in-person or over Zoom.
