PARKING LOT UPDATE
Parking Lot 4 (south side of Temple) is undergoing resurfacing starting today through Friday.

- Orion Peterson, graduate student in biology, was awarded outstanding research presentation on stress at Academy of Orofacial Pain conference.
- Ana Estrella took biology students to Costa Rica in effort to learn environmental literacy.
- Two biology students and a biology professor presented at the Missouri Academy of Science (MAS) annual meeting this past April.

Department of Natural Resources hosting pesticide pickup in Nevada on Saturday, July 21
JEFFERSON CITY, MO, JULY 5, 2018 – The Missouri Department of Natural Resources, in conjunction with the Vernon County Fairgrounds, will provide a free pesticide collection event from 8 a.m. to noon on Saturday, July 21 at the Vernon County Fairgrounds located at 1488 E. Ashland St., Nevada.
The collection is open to all Missouri farmers and households.
Accepted items include:
- Unwanted pesticides
- Herbicides
- Insecticides
- Fungicides
- Rodenticides
- Dewormers
- Fly tags
- Fertilizers containing pesticide
Not accepted items include:
- Paint
- Explosives
- Fire extinguishers
- Yard waste
- Electronics
- Trash
- Pesticides from businesses, pesticide production facilities, pesticide distributors, pesticide retailers
The event is the fifth of six events scheduled for 2018. More information about the Missouri Pesticide Collection Program is available online at dnr.mo.gov/env/hwp/pesticide.
REGISTRATION OPEN for Master Advisor Workshop Series!
The Advising Basics Workshop is on Wednesday, August 8 from 8:30 to 11:30 a.m.
The Master Advisor Workshop begins on Wednesday, August 8 from 1:00 to 5:00 p.m. and continues on Thursday, August 9 from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. The Master Advisor Workshop covers information such as advisor competencies, academic rules and regulations, campus resources, advising techniques and strategies, ethical guidelines, confidentiality of student records, transfer advising, and accessing student information through Self-Service Banner and Degree Works.
