Be kind. Be positive. Be strong. Be safe.
On a personal note it has been a very interesting end to the semester. My vision got cloudy and then by Sunday, May 8 – I had no vision in my right eye. I saw my eye doctor on Monday, May 9 and was immediately sent to a specialist. Diagnosis – retinal detachment. Surgery was scheduled for Tuesday morning, May 10. The surgery (vitrectomy) involved removing the vitreous and then replacing it with a gas bubble. The gas bubble included perfluoropropane (just a little organic chemistry). Instructions were then to keep my head face down 90% of day and night for two weeks. I met with the surgeon this morning after two weeks. My eye is healing as it should and I will have my eyesight back. I am thankful for a great surgeon and healing.
