It is Fall Break Week. Offices are open on Thursday and Friday but no classes.
Blunt Hall Construction updates for Fall Break –
- 10/10/24 Partial Water Shut-Down (Should not affect building operation – there may be a slight pressure drop with eventual lack of water depending on overall use in the building – if you are concerned, please let me know)
- 10/10/24 & 10/11/24 Remove glass piping in Rooms 330 & 326. Rooms above to be affected with no sink drains: 422, 428B, & 432.
- 10/10/24 & 10/11/24 Women’s Restroom toilet partition replacement – Level 1, 2, 3, & 4. First Floor Restrooms by Dean’s Office will remain open.
- 10/12/24 5:00 am to 7:00 pm Power Outage – Entire Existing Building (including Vivarium) and Addition
Summer Fellowship Proposals are due October 30.
Sabbatical applications for the 2025-2026 academic year are due October 28
CNAS 3MT is coming up, October 21, see attached flyer for more information.
Education Abroad Faculty Fellows information attached. Criteria for funding include:
- Applicants have never led an education abroad program
- Applicants have never taught for MSU internationally
- Applicants have never taken a group of research students to an international study site
- Applicants are new to education abroad programming

- Mechanical, Electrical and Plumbing work in addition – Levels 4 & 5.
- Gypsum board installation & Finish Level 4. Painting on Level 4.
- Curtain wall continues. GFRC installation continues.
- Roof installation Level 5 continues. Scheduled to be complete the end of October.
- Lab Casework Installation continues – Level 2.
- Auditorium scaffolding and demolition continues.
Phase Two Three Week Lookahead
Exterior scaffold at main south entrance substantially complete. Entrance is accessible with construction spotters when in use.)
10/7/24 thru 10/25/24
- Selective demolition – Level 2 & 3.
- Glass pipe removal/replacement.
10/10/24 & 10/11/24 Remove glass piping in Rooms 330 & 326. Rooms above to be affected with no sink drains: 422, 428B, & 432.
- Hydronic main continues in basement and mechanical rooms. (This work will affect the temperatures in the Pit.)
- Ductwork installation commences – Level 2 & 3.
