Bethany Kelly and the National Art Education Association (NAEA) will bring sidewalk chalk to Craig Hall’s front steps during the COAL Homecoming. Kelly is a senior at MSU, nearly ready to graduate with her bachelor’s in art education, and she’s looking forward to getting involved with the Homecoming community.“It’s great to get the experience working in the community and meeting people.”
Kelly and members of the NAEA are encouraging everyone to get involved in this event. “We want other people. Students, kids, whoever, just come make some art with us. We want it to be an engaged process and not just an isolated event.”
Kelly was offered a scholarship to attend Missouri State and since then, she’s felt like a major part of the community and wants to share that feeling with students and alumni. “We have a really nice community around here that you can get involved in and there’s a big sense that you’re a part of it, even if you’re not from the area,” said Kelly.
So bring out your artistic skills and join Kelly and the National Art Education Association on Sat., Oct. 19, from 10 a.m. until 1 p.m. in front of Craig Hall on the Missouri State campus.
